Actress Leslie Agams, who played one of the wardens in «Fallout» Warehouse 33» Betty Pearson, confirmed that the second season of the series will start filming in November.
Previous rumors about the start of filming that surfaced in August hinted that production would begin «soon», while Aggams provided a more precise timeframe in interview with Screen Rant.
In fact, the filming of the second season of «Failure» will start just 8 months after the first season. Prime Video accelerated production somewhat, given the show’s great popularity, and announced the renewal just a week after the last episode of the first season was released.
As for the release date of the series, based on the first season (filming began in July 2022 and the first episode debuted in April 2024), we can predict the end of 2025-2026. It should be noted, however, that «Fallout» already has sets, props, and costumes ready, so production may take less than two years.
The first season of «Failure» became one of the biggest hits of this year, which attracted 65 million viewers in the first 16 days (the second highest result in the history of Prime Video — only in series «The Lord of the Rings»), and received high marks in reviews (94% from critics and 90% from viewers on Rotten Tomatoes). Also, the series received 16 nominations «Emmy», however did not have a single victory in the main categories.
Showrunner Graham Wagner had previously hinted that the series will have five seasons, while Bethesda game designer Jeff Gardiner stated that «Foulout» will be revisited as «The Lord of the Rings»and «games will live to see our grandchildren. By the way, the game Fallout 5 is also confirmed and will be released after Elder Scrolls 6 (however, this is still a few years away).
The «Fallout» series is based on the video game franchise of the same name and, according to the official synopsis, tells the story of humanity’s survival in a post-apocalyptic future in 2296 – 219 years after the nuclear war. The plot is part of the canon of the game series, but tells an independent story built around three key characters: a young girl Lucy, a resident of «Vault 33», her father and Vault supervisor Hank, and mercenary goon Cooper Howard.
Ella Purnell («Hornets»), Walton Goggins («Justified») and Kyle MacLachlan («Twin Peaks») play the main roles in the TV adaptation. Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, who have already worked together on «Wild West Country», are also among the showrunners of the series.
Amid the success of the series, interest in the game series has also grown: according to Bethesda, 5 million people played Fallout in a day, including a million — in Fallout 76, which 6 years ago was called doomed by observers due to low attendance.
