A real technical rarity has recently appeared on eBay: an engineering prototype of the first version of Steam Deck, a portable console from Valve. This sample, internally dubbed Engineering Sample 34, is notable not only for its unusual appearance but also for its older hardware. The device was sold for $2000, although the starting price was $3000.

The Steam Deck OLED console has shown little burn-in after a 1500-hour stress test conducted by YouTuber Wulff Den. Although 1500 hours or 63 days is a long time, the OLED version of the Steam Deck experienced burn-in much faster than the Switch OLEDwhich, as Wulff Den demonstrated earlier, burned out in about 3500 hours.
