Logitech is known for its peripherals, especially gadgets for gamers and for work. For example, it has a gaming mouse PRO 2 Lightspeed, which replaced the first, probably legendary, generation. The device has a restrained design and cool colors, it is suitable for left-handed people, has an updated sensor and optical switches. It also works together with the new Logitech G PowerPlay 2 gaming surface, which we will also discuss in this review.

Packaging and equipment
The Logitech G PRO 2 Lightspeed comes in a small black box with a mouse design.

Inside we see the device itself, a proprietary receiver and extension cable, a USB-C cable, a box with additional magnetic keys and plugs, and basic documentation.

Design and ergonomics of the Logitech G PRO 2 Lightspeed
Logitech G PRO 2 Lightspeed — is a classic from Logitech with a minimalist design and asymmetrical construction. This means that it is equally suitable for left- and right-handed people, and most importantly, left-handed people don’t just get a mouse with buttons in an inconvenient place, but can use them to their fullest.
The new product has removable buttons with magnets on both sides. There are also plugs included. That is, all users can install all four side buttons, of course, if it does not interfere. You can also install two on the left or right side, respectively, and use a full-fledged universal mouse without any problems.
Logitech G PRO 2 Lightspeed has a matte plastic body, dimensions of 125×40×63.5 mm and weighs 80 grams. The latter figure is unlikely to be suitable for professional eSports, but the mouse is not designed for it. Its task is to win over a more casual gamer, but at the same time allow you to play well-known FPS games with maximum comfort, even online.
The case of the model is almost solid, it is well assembled and well-made. Only two main switches are mounted separately.
Between them we see a plastic wheel with notches.
There are three battery indicators behind it, which is very convenient.
On the «belly of the» we see the G icon with RGB backlighting.

We reviewed the version in bright pink, and there are also black and white versions.
Functionality and sensor
The two main buttons of the Logitech G PRO 2 Lightspeed have proprietary Lightforce optical-mechanical switches, also known as Omron D2FP-FH1. We saw the same ones in the Logitech G309 Lightspeed model.
In the proprietary software, they can be switched between optical and hybrid modes. The feeling of the classic tasty mechanical click does not change at all, but in the second version the mouse consumes less power because there is a slightly longer delay when pressing.
Logitech G PRO 2 Lightspeed also has an updated proprietary HERO 2 sensor with an available resolution of 100–44,000 DPI. The maximum acceleration is 40G, and the maximum speed has increased to 500 IPS. And the maximum response frequency here is 1000 Hz (125 Hz, 250 Hz, 500 Hz and 1000 Hz). That is, this sensor is not just very fast, it is virtually impossible to break.
We didn’t forget about the built-in memory. It is important to know that it must be enabled through a proprietary program. If you do this, you can store up to five profiles on board.
Logitech G PRO 2 Lightspeed also has RGB backlighting, but it is implemented only in the letter G on the back of the mouse. This will appeal to those who don’t really like backlighting, but perceive it in a similar minimalist style. And you can turn it off, too.
Logitech G PowerPlay 2 surface
In addition to the new mouse, Logitech has also released the second version of its proprietary mouse pad with built-in wireless charging PowerPlay 2. Its dimensions are 344×284 mm. The new product is based on a rubber layer, and the top is a smooth fabric surface on which the mouse slides easily and quickly.

Logitech G PowerPlay 2 has a USB-C cable that needs to be connected to something, of course, if you want the mouse to charge and forget about it. In addition to the hero of the review, Logitech G PRO 2 Lightspeed, Logitech G309 Lightspeed, G309, G502 X PLUS, G703, and others support work with the proprietary surface.

Connectivity and software
Logitech G PRO 2 Lightspeed can be connected via 2.4 GHz thanks to the included receiver, or via a wire via the USB-C port.

The new device works with the proprietary G Hub application. Some people like it, some don’t, but for me and my tasks, it’s a convenient and powerful software. Here you can check the remaining charge, customize presets or use one of the eight existing ones, record macros, assign different commands to the main or additional keys, and change different DPI values for specific tasks, programs, or game genres. And more.

Logitech G PRO 2 Lightspeed autonomous operation
The manufacturer claims that Logitech G PRO 2 Lightspeed will work up to 95 hours without active RGB backlighting and up to 60 hours with it. That is, this little «light» in the letter G potentially «consumes» a third of the charge.
In fact, I used the mouse for more than 70 hours with the backlight and more than 100 hours without it. It’s good when the manufacturer slightly underestimates the declared figures to make it a pleasant surprise, which is what happened in this case. So the mouse’s autonomy is excellent, but it’s still strange that the small letter lighting uses so much charge. It’s not even a strip along the contour at the bottom, it would be clearer there.
And it also doesn’t compare to the same Logitech G309 Lightspeed with its 600 hours of Bluetooth and 300 hours of USB dongle, but it’s battery-powered. Therefore, if you need even more autonomy and do not plan to play eSports, then have a closer look at this model.
If you don’t have a Logitech G PowerPlay 2 mat with which you can forget about it, then charging the Logitech G PRO 2 Lightspeed from 0 to 100% takes about an hour.

Logitech G PRO 2 Lightspeed experience
You can’t help but like the Logitech G PRO 2 Lightspeed. At least that’s what I think. The mouse is ascetic and hasn’t changed at all in appearance, if we compare it to the first version. But they updated the hardware, replaced the battery, sensors, sensors, etc., so they didn’t touch what they didn’t need to and just improved what they could. Of course, from my point of view.
I like these upgrades, and I also like the minimalist, almost rough style, but I know that not everyone will like it, and for esports, you need something lighter. But if you are a serious gamer, but don’t plan to get involved in eSports, then Logitech G PRO 2 Lightspeed will cover all your needs for the coming years. It’s great in all genres, although it probably has a few buttons for MMOs, and if you put all four of them on, you might have to use your little finger to get them.

In any case, this is a highly versatile mouse that is also suitable for work. It has a delicious, slightly loud click, but it’s cool and mechanical. However, the switches are very fast, and breaking the sensor is out of the question.
The size is also great. This mouse is suitable for people with large hands, but it won’t be too big or too heavy for everyone else. It is recommended for palm grip and claw grip. And its versatility and symmetrical body are tops. There aren’t many mice on the market that can be used by left-handed people.
I can’t help but note the build quality and materials. Everything is top-notch, nothing squeaks anywhere, and a little post-travel on the main buttons is normal. I should note that this quality is true for all Logitech mice, at least those I’ve used.
Price and competitors
Logitech G PRO 2 Lightspeed is sold at a price of 4289 UAH, but in most large networks its price tag is 4899 UAH. In my opinion, this is an adequate price, but it will definitely be expensive for some, especially since there are many competitors and not all of them cost the same or more.
The new product has many competitors among other mice of the brand. Pay attention to Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2 with a price tag of UAH 4,849, for Logitech G304/G305 Lightspeed Gaming Mouse (price from UAH 1550) and on Logitech G309 Lightspeed with a price tag of 2229 hryvnias. We had a look at it.
Among other well-known models, I would at least look at Asus ROG Gladius III Wireless AimPoint (price from UAH 3279), forRazer Viper V3 Pro (price from UAH 6249), although it is pricier, and by MSI Versa 300 Wireless with a price tag of UAH 1220.
New products from HATOR also compete: Hator Pulsar 3 Wireless with a price tag of UAH 1469, Hator Quasar 3 Ultra 8K Wireless (price from UAH 2749) and Hator Pulsar 3 PRO Wireless with a price starting at UAH 2105.
