Editor’s choice: ITC.ua names the car of the year 2024

During the year, we got to know more than thirty different cars, which were either new or just restyled versions of existing models on the market. These were all different cars, but among them we will highlight three of the most interesting models that deserve the title of «ITC Car of the Year».

Third place — Jeep Avenger

I may not be very clear here, highlighting this baby among so many really cool cars. But Jeep Avenger — a novelty in the Jeep model range and in Ukraine. This small compact was a revelation for me. It was so easy to communicate with, it turned out to be not as small as it might seem at first glance. It has its charm and ease of handling and communication.

It is a fun and dynamic crossover with a hybrid system that saves fuel. There are also electric versions on offer, and now all-wheel drive versions will go on sale, which fully convey the spirit of Jeep. It definitely deserves special attention. The cost of the hybrid compact starts from UAH 1,061,400.

Second place — Hyundai Santa Fe

The Korean SUV magically attracted the attention of everyone on the roads. No one could believe that the brand would take such a radical path. The Santa Fe has received straightforward shapes to increase interior space, a more comfortable seating arrangement and extra luggage space. It now looks distinctive and impresses with a well-thought-out interior, cool active assistant settings, and technology. Communication with it left a pleasant aftertaste and a desire to own such a monster.

Under the hood, there is a 194 hp 2.5 GDI gasoline four paired with an eight-speed automatic, or a turbocharged 2.5 Turbo GDI (G4K III) with 281 hp and an eight-speed robotic transmission with two DCT wet clutches. The price starts at UAH 1,807,000.

First place — Lexus GX

This SUV is one of the most anticipated novelties, of course after the Toyota Land Cruiser. The product from the Japanese concern not only radically changed its appearance, but also significantly improved in terms of technology and positioning. Now, the two top SUVs of the brands have been priced differently. In short, in Lexus GX now has more off-road capabilities, a new biturbocharged 3.4-liter V6 (354 hp and 650 Nm) and a fresh interior. The price of the new model starts at UAH 4,142,469.

And that’s not all. I could mention many good cars here, such as Suzuki Swift, Skoda Octavia, Hyundai Sonata, Mitsubishi L200 as well as updated and favorite models such as Toyota Yaris Cross, Honda ZR-V, Nissan Qashqai and others. And you can get acquainted with them in the published test drives.

In 2024, I would like to highlight an SUV that is difficult to classify as a general car. It stands out from the crowd and does not fit into any rating. And it is Ineos Grenadier — a unique machine with a reprinted pedigree. It is produced at a small plant and carries a hodgepodge of the best technologies and developments, albeit borrowed from other renowned brands, but here brought to conformity with off-road abilities combined with comfort.

And we can separately distinguish the segment of electric vehicles, which are replenished with new interesting cars every year, such as Volvo EX30 or Porsche Macan. But we have already talked about all this, and in 2025 there will be new interesting models. So stay tuned.
