This year’s finalists of the «Car of the Year in Ukraine 2025» nomination are so different that even in the wildest of thoughts, they cannot be pitted against each other. Only the voting is over and only one of them will be awarded the title, so it’s mostly up to you to choose.
The «Car of the Year in Ukraine» campaign takes place every year and is voted on by a jury of experts, opinion leaders and journalists, as well as the public, who vote for their favorites on the website. Most of the votes are given not to the expert jury, but to car enthusiasts. And this year’s contenders for the title of the best new car of the year are as versatile as you could imagine. There are crossovers, SUVs, and even sedans. Let me introduce you to the best of the new products of the past year.

Skoda Octavia
Cost: from UAH 1,110,130 to UAH 1,509,249
It’s no surprise that this public favorite claims the most important award, especially after the updates. Skoda Octavia still remains a profitable and practical investment in their comfort in the minds of Ukrainians. Now we have an updated interior, more options and technologies available in smaller configurations in the form of matrix light, wireless smartphone connections, a larger multimedia screen, etc. And most importantly, the price tag is kept within reasonable limits.

Skoda Kodiaq

Skoda — the only brand with two representatives among the top finalists. And this is not surprising. If Octavia is a cult favorite, this one is a modern one. Our car enthusiasts have long been disassembling the large crossover and do not regret it. It’s impossible to remain indifferent to this compact-looking, but actually large crossover. And last year, it underwent an update that made it even more practical and technologically advanced.
A bright representative of its class among competitors wins thanks to an interesting price, a spacious interior with a lot of pockets, pockets with smart organization and many additional accessories. And now we have also received the top Sport Line trim level.
Hyundai Tucson

Korean crossover reflects all modern ideas about a practical car for every day. It is roomy, tall, and has a trendy design of the future, which continues in the interior architecture. It has well-thought-out ergonomics, sophisticated safety and driver assistance systems, high-quality materials and an economical hybrid engine.
And then there’s the super spacious interior, which is what Honda does best — their cars are like magic. And now the CR-V has a more modern design and interior architecture. It is worthy of attention in every sense and definitely deserves the title of the best family car.
Jeep Avenger
Cost: from UAH 1,034,100 to UAH 1,144,200
The little newcomer to the family of large SUVs, although it breaks out of the brand’s philosophy, does not lag behind its older brothers. It is more Jeep The truck is better than you might expect and, even with front-wheel drive, can handle dirt roads well thanks to its high ground clearance, short overhangs, and low weight. Peugeot e-2008
Cost: UAH 1,428,700
Worthy electric car among the finalists, which was appreciated not only by the expert jury but also by users. The French have really managed to make the transition from an internal combustion engine to an electric drive almost imperceptible. Interestingly, the energy consumption is adequate and remains at the level of 17-18 kWh per 100 km, and the 54 kW battery should provide a range of 400 km (WLTP).
The Peugeot e-2008 retains all the advantages of the maximum trim levels, but adds more modern technologies, such as a 3D dashboard, alcantara trim, security systems, and all this against the background of Peugeot’s incredible design.
Mitsubishi L200
Cost: from UAH 1,734,000 to UAH 2,199,000
For the first time, a pickup truck is a finalist and contender for the title of «Car of the Year 2025», and this is no accident. As times change, so do the cars in the lead. We really need more of them, like L200 and even in minimal configurations. It is almost unstoppable — it can handle difficult roads, as well as time — its vocation.
In its current form, the Mitsubishi L200 has a lot of glamor, modern assistants, and important improvements that have only improved its reliability and self-confidence. It is important to add that the choice of the pickup truck as the best car of the year will be a victory for the consciousness of motorists who understand the importance of drawing public attention to the need to supply equipment to our defenders. INEOS Grenadier

This novelty is beyond comprehension in the list of finalists because it is basically a new SUV in Europe from a Briton who was very much carried away by the capabilities of the first Land Rover Defender. Our drivers definitely liked the reincarnation of the legend. The possibilities on off-road routes are almost limitless, the energy capacity of the suspension is amazing — it is a worthy off-road conqueror. Only equipped with modern bells and whistles, a BMW engine and gearbox, Recaro seats, and other bells and whistles that increase the value Grenadier up to UAH 3.5 million. So not everyone can afford this pleasure.

BMW 3-Series
Cost: from UAH 1,800,051 to UAH 3,043,171
It is rare that we see BMW among the finalists, but this time it was clearly savored, as last year was one of the best sales years for the BMW importer and the brand continues to hold its leadership position. Not least because of the interesting price tags starting at 34,500 euros, which is equivalent to the average Toyota Camry or Hyundai Sonata.
Only the basic versions will not have the charm of the «three», but the M version will already reflect the spirit of a powerful, impudent sedan, which is what BMW should be, although the cost will be closer to 60 thousand euros. And it will have an eco-leather interior and several additional finishes like lighting, assistants, matrix light, and more. Whether it can become a winner is quite likely, given the number of BMW owners on the road today.
Audi Q6 e-tron
Cost: from UAH 2,601,961 to UAH 3,256,941
Another representative of the premium segment that deserves to be named «Car of the Year», but this is more of a dream for most Ukrainians than a possibility. Electric car with a 100 kWh battery is capable of racing you 500 km with the softness of an adaptive suspension, a spectacular augmented reality projection screen, intelligent controls, and assistants.
There are so many cool features that it’s impossible to list them in one paragraph. So you just have to get to know it. This is a special world of Audi, recreated with an environmental component, and they have just arrived in Ukraine and dealer showrooms.
