Components for gaming PCs are extremely expensive in stores, so gamers are looking for something more affordable. OLX reports a radical growth of this niche in the last few months.
According to the published statistics, since the introduction of the «Gamers’ Gear» category on Ukrainian OLX, the demand for its content has increased 8 times. From June 2024 to February 2025, the number of responses to offers of gaming PCs and laptops increased, monitors, components and accessories increased by 800%. The number of relevant ads increased more than 5 times. In February alone, 110 thousand new offers for gamers appeared on OLX.
Based on the analysis of its own statistics, OLX tells us how much Ukrainians spent on average on a computer. As you can see, the most interesting options were inexpensive. The median price of a desktop PC in February 2025 was UAH 16,000. A used one was bought for UAH 8,000. A new monitor cost — UAH 5,000, and a used one — UAH 2,058. The most common prices for components:
- Power supply — UAH 1,600 for a new one (UAH 1,143 for a used one)
- Video card — UAH 6,500 for a new one (UAH 3,000 for a used one)
- Hard disk — UAH 1,625 for a new one (UAH 700 for a used one)
- Sound card — 750 UAH for a new one (1,300 UAH for a used one)
- Housing — UAH 2,075 for a new one (UAH 999 for a used one)
- Motherboard — UAH 3,526 for a new one (UAH 1,899 for a used one)
- Memory module — UAH 970 for a new one (UAH 500 for a used one)
- Processor — UAH 4,437 for a new one (UAH 1,200 for a used one)
So assemble a PC from components on average, the cost of a new PC was UAH 21,482 and UAH 10,741, respectively. Among the factors behind the growing interest in PCs, the company notes the growing popularity of remote work and study, the development of gaming and streaming, and the need for inexpensive solutions to implement them.
As for gaming computers, we can see from the above that despite the growing interest in them, most people still choose inexpensive PCs and components that are available in large numbers on OLX, either as primary or secondary market offers. Given the information about prices for new video cards, processors, and gaming laptops, the secondary market will continue to thrive.
