The most interesting new games of June 2024

Traditionally, in June, the gaming industry goes into hibernation, giving the summer to gaming exhibitions, presentations, and announcements of upcoming games. However, we won’t be left without any new releases, the main one being an expansion to one of the best games of recent years. Destiny 2: The Final Shape

After a delay of almost half a year, fans have been waiting for a new major expansion pack for Destiny 2. The expansion is a direct sequel to Destiny 2: Lightfall and the final one in the fight between Light and Darkness. The Guardians will go to the heart of the Traveler to stop the Witness from creating The Final Shape, which can destroy all life in the universe.

In addition to the new content, the expansion pack has also made changes to the seasonal system. Now, instead of seasons, the game will have Episodes. There will be three episodes in total, the first one, Echoes, will launch on June 11, and the other two, Revenant and Heresy, will be released in October and February, respectively.

Downward: Enhanced Edition

After its original release on PC in 2017, the game will be coming to Sony and Nintendo consoles. Downward — is a first-person action game in a fantasy setting where parkour is the main gameplay element. The world of Downward has not belonged to humans for a long time, and it is the protagonist who has the opportunity to find out the cause of the apocalypse and the disappearance of people.

A Twisted Path to Renown

A Twisted Path to Renown is a game by Ukrainian studio Game-Labs, the authors of This Land Is My Land. The developers were inspired by Hunt: Showdown. In late nineteenth-century America, we create our own history alone or in the company of similar frontier conquerors.

A Twisted Path to Renown is a PvEvP evacuation shooter that relies heavily on the economy, a complex crafting system, and world exploration. A special feature is the Homestead mode — an economic system where people are hired, buildings are built, land is cultivated and materials are extracted, which is then transferred to production and trade. The game has a Ukrainian localization.

This is not the first time Polish developers have touched upon the topic of the Chernobyl accident. But it seems to be the first time we have been given the opportunity to be in the epicenter of this terrible event The game has a Ukrainian localization.

Blockbuster Inc.

Genre: Movie studio simulator

Back in 2005, The Movies was released, offering to take on the role of not just a Hollywood studio manager, but a full-fledged toolkit for creating movies of any genre, from comedies to historical dramas. «Filmed» movie could be exported to a full-fledged video file. The game failed financially, but became a cult game due to its uniqueness and really great opportunities for making small films. Perhaps Blockbuster Inc. will become the true heir to The Movies, we will find out very soon.

Summer Game Fest

E3 has finally died and made way for a summer marathon of gaming exhibitions under the auspices of Geoff Keighley, the founder and organizer of The Game Awards. The game showman has already warned that one shouldn’t expect super-loud announcements at the opening of Summer Game Fest, but reassured that almost the entire presentation will be a series of game trailers. With the start of Summer Game Fest, a whole festival of gaming events begins: Future Game Show, Xbox Games Showcase, PC Gaming Show, Ubisoft Forward, and many others.

The presentation will start on June 07 at 23:30.

Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance

Vengeance is an expanded version of the original Shin Megami Tensei V. In the new edition, the player is given a choice of two ways to play the game, the Creation Canon or the Revenge Canon. The story in both canons starts the same way, but differs significantly after the equator, including different endings. Each canon will take about 80 hours to complete. Also, the edition received new characters, monsters, locations, general improvements to the player experience, and all the DLC of the original game. Unfortunately, it is not possible to transfer saves from SMT V to Vengeance.

Monster Hunter Stories

The original Monster Hunter Stories was released in 2016 exclusively for 3DS. The re-release received full voice acting in Japanese and English, the Museum mode, all DLC, and adaptation for modern consoles and PCs. The main difference and feature of Stories is the turn-based strategy mode and the fact that we not only hunt monsters, but also raise them and cooperate with them. The PS4 port of the sequel to Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin will be released simultaneously. Both games can be purchased as part of the Monster Hunter Stories Collection.

Still Wakes the Deep

The game is developed by The Chinese Room, the studio behind Dear Esther, Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture, and the upcoming Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines 2.

Republic of Pirates

Republic of Pirates is an economic strategy game in which we build a society of pirates in its golden age, the second half of the 17th century. In addition to building your own utopia through trade and diplomacy, the game will allow you to engage in traditional pirate activities, such as robbing unprotected merchant ships.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree

The first and only addition to the best of the 2022 game will be released very soon. The expansion will open the way to the Land of Shadows. A place hidden by the Erd Tree and where the goddess Marika first set foot. Shadow of the Erdtree adds new weapons, equipment, weapon skills, and magic that are not available in the base game, as well as new enemies, bosses, and storylines, the main one of which is closely related to Miquella.
