Barry Keoghan, star of «Saltburn» and Oscar» nominee for «Banshee Inisherina», will join Cillian Murphy in «Peaky Blinders». The first image of the actor in the movie has been released.
Netflix has officially unveiled the first look at Barry Keoghan’s character in the upcoming feature film «Peaky Blinders», which is set in the mid-20th century. Recently, the paparazzi released pictures of Keoghan during the filming process in Yorkshire, England, so Netflix probably decided to give fans a better look. Details about his character are not disclosed, but Keoghan looks natural in the shot and is excited about his participation in the movie.
«I’m a huge fan of the show, Cillian [is] a good friend of mine and I admire him as an actor. So just wanting to get into that and get my [filming] process down now — I have a process that I’m doing and I haven’t done it in a long time so I’m excited and nervous at the same time», — says Keoghan in interview Entertainment Weekly.
Steven Knight, the creator of the series, returns as the writer and producer of the film, which is directed by Tom Harper. Plot details are being kept under wraps, but the description promises an «epic sequel» to the series set in World War II.
Previously, fans have only seen two official images of the movie: one showed a graying Thomas Shelby in action, the other Cillian Murphy and Stephen Knight together on the set. It has also been confirmed that Rebecca Ferguson and Tim Roth have joined the cast.
The first season of «Peaky Blinders» was released in 2013, and the sixth and final season appeared in 2022. In June 2024, Netflix announced the creation of a feature film. There are also rumors about the development of a prequel to the series about Polly Shelby.
