All NVIDIA RTX 50xx can get a 12V-2×6 power connector, even the younger ones

After the launch of the GeForce RTX 40 series, NVIDIA introduced the 12VHPWR connector, which not only chairs were burning. His successor 12V-2×6 will have no alternative.

Not all NVIDIA RTX 40xx graphics cards were equipped with 12VHPWR or 12V-2×6 power connections – the younger ones use the usual eight-pin. By data Corsair, a power supply manufacturer, will soon be over.

«The latest graphics cards now require a 12V-2×6 GPU power connector, and we expect this standard to continue to work with the next generation of GPUs. To meet these requirements, CORSAIR offers a wide range of power supplies with models ranging from 750W to 1500W to satisfy even the most demanding users».

Website Tech4gamers claims that this means that even RTX 5060 will be equipped with the connector, although the text does not explicitly mention this. The press release also suggests the presence of graphics cards with a power consumption of more than 450W — this could be the RTX 5090, which is rumored to have 600W. Most likely, the new graphics cards will be released in early January — but even then, the intrigue will remain due to the expected later appearance of the RTX 5060.

However, according to DigiTimes Asia, Taiwanese cooling system manufacturer Auras claims that NVIDIA RTX 50xx graphics cards could «take over the entire market starting in December» Tom`s Hardware notes that despite the existence of other sources that also speak of December, most converge on early January.
