Atomfall, a game that combines the features of Fallout, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., and many others, has received a release date. The new trailer focuses on the wild thickets and the mystical side of the game.
This time, the short Atomfall trailer doesn’t show a city, robots, military, or a nuclear power plant. The player is surrounded by the wild or feral nature of the Casterfell Woods location and mystical symbols: a crucified man covered with plants and mushrooms, a ritual pyre, a wooden idol. The action takes place during the day, but the authors managed to create a horror atmosphere. The player wanders through the thickets and sees an English red phone booth in a picturesque deserted landscape.

«Atomfall’s new trailer, featuring an original folk song, demonstrates the game’s folkloric horror influences. The United Kingdom has a rich history of folk tales that goes back to ancient pagan myths. Players will find that these fantastic and exciting elements shape the atmosphere of Atomfall, as well as classic sci-fi motifs reminiscent of «Doctor Who», «Quatermass Experiment», and «Day of the Triffids». This gives the game a unique feel that combines excitement in one moment with the chill of horror in the next,» says the Xbox blog.
The developers from Rebellion talk about the universe of the single-player survival game, which contains many hints and references, is both familiar and new and alien. From the various gameplay videos, you can see that there are several locations that are very different from each other. Quest hints can be found in dialogues, searches, and battles. Atomfall will feature hand-to-hand combat and small arms, role-playing elements, and skill trees.
«Set in the aftermath of a nuclear disaster, Atomfall sets out to solve the mystery of what happened at the Windscale nuclear power plant. To find out, you need to visit military camps, search in abandoned bunkers underground, and risk your life in pagan ruins».
British post-apocalyptic survival Atomfall will be released on March 27, 2025 on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, and Game Pass. According to the Steam page, the game will receive Denuvo protection.
