Dragon’s Den star Emma D’Arcy has appeared in a short teaser announcing the start of filming for the third season in the UK, and HBO has announced the names of two famous actors who will join the cast of the series.

Tommy Flanagan («Gladiator», «Sons of Anarchy») has been cast as Sir Roderick Dustin, and Dan Fogler («Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them») as Sir Torren Manderley.
In the novel «Fire and Blood» by George R.R. Martin, Sir Roderick Dustin, also known as Roddy Ruin, is a skilled warrior who commands a large army of Winter Wolves.
«I’m not going to say much, but he’s one of those Game of Thrones characters who really sticks in your mind. He’s been a constant in Fire and Blood and I think he’s one of the real fan favorites. I’m very proud of the role we wrote,» said Ryan Condal, showrunner of «Dragon’s Den», in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
Not much is known about Ser Manderly — he is a member of a noble family in the North, who is endowed with a sharp mind and a tongue in cheek. Earlier, James Norton was added to the cast of Dragonsong» as Ormund Gaitaver; Matt Smith, Emma D’Arcy, Olivia Cooke, Steve Toussaint, Rhys Ifans, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney and others will reprise their roles in the sequel.
Based on George R.R. Martin’s book «House of the Dragon», the series is set 200 years before the events of «Game of Thrones» and tells the story of the confrontation between the black and green Targaryens. Both seasons received record-breaking viewership, although the final of the second was criticizedIn particular, for the abundance of protracted dialogues and intrigue along with the absence of the long-awaited naval battle — but the showrunners have already promised to show it at the beginning of the third.
Martin himself criticized the show’s creators, saying complained that the film adaptation made a mistakewhich will break the logic of the following seasons. Kondal now says that he was very disappointed by the writer’s words at the time:

I’ll just say that I’ve been a fan of A Song of Ice and Fire for almost 25 years now, and working on the series has truly been one of the great privileges of not only my career as a writer, but my life as a fan of science fiction and fantasy. George himself is a literary icon in addition to being a personal hero of mine, and he has greatly influenced my development as an author.
The release date of the third season of «Dragon’s Den» has not yet been confirmed, but we tentatively expect it to be in early 2026.
