NVIDIA reveals quad-slot RTX 4090 Ti in new Founders Edition cooling system video

NVIDIA has published a video about the design and evolution of RTX Founders Edition graphics cards, in which it showed the previously known conditional RTX 4090 Ti on four slots with a side layout of the board.

Initially, NVIDIA used cooling systems with one fan. Only after launching projects with 2x GPU did the company add a second fan. Reference graphics cards were typically considered worse in terms of temperature and noise, making non-standard manufacturer variants more attractive.

In the RTX series, NVIDIA introduced a new dual-axis design, and with the RTX 30, the company uses a shorter printed circuit board. The current generation has a dual-flow design with a board completely separated from the terminals.

The company demonstrates a concept of the conditional RTX 4090 Ti on four slots with three fans. This design was previously discovered in the leaks, and later the prototype was tested and disassembled by Gamers Nexus. Essentially, NVIDIA decided not to implement this prototype. As shown in the Gamers Nexus video, the card had a very complex design.

The card, shown by NVIDIA as a 3D visualization, resembles the TITAN series based on its colors. The video also confirms the presence of designs with two 16-pin power connectors, possibly in a 800W model. Among the reasons for abandoning such a design, NVIDIA cited the sizes of the graphics cards and limited support of cases.
