Video card manufacturers have showcased many variants of the NVIDIA RTX 5090, but the proprietary NVIDIA model turned out to be the smallest. It is the only one that meets SFF — the proprietary form factor for compact PCs.
NVIDIA has just updated its RTX 50 series of graphic adapters, ready for use in compact form factor SFF. Interestingly, many of the models listed therein have not yet been announced by partners, making the list essentially a source of insider information.
Most new SFF models belong to the RTX 5070 series. These video cards with TDPs of 250-300 W do not require overly massive cooling systems, making them easier to make compact. NVIDIA RTX 5090 Founders Edition is currently the only flagship Blackwell video card with a 2.5-slot configuration.

Along with RTX 5090 FE, the list also includes 5080 FE and 5070 FE, while 5070 Ti FE is not included — there is no such model at all. NVIDIA minimized the printed circuit board area of RTX 5090 FE and optimized airflow. Jensen Huang described the video card as “essentially a big fan”. Looking at the design, it’s clear why.

The SFF-Ready standard requires dimensions of 2.5 slots in thickness, 151 mm in height, and 304 mm in length. These specifications, considering the compact boards of the new generation of NVIDIA video cards, seem not too complex for manufacturers.
