“Severance” is a science-fiction psychological thriller that tells the story of the technological corporation Lumon Industries, which uses a medical procedure called “severance,” which separates a person’s memories between work and home, effectively creating two personalities in one body. One of the “severed” employees, Mark (Adam Scott), gradually uncovers a conspiracy network.

Apart from Scott, the series features Tramell Tillman, Britt Lower, Zach Cherry, Jen Tullock, Michael Chernus, Dichen Lachman, John Turturro, Christopher Walken, and Patricia Arquette. The showrunner is Dan Erickson, and the directorial role was taken by Ben Stiller.

Below, we offer direct quotes from reviews on the second season of “Severance” from professional publications:

  • Angie Han, The Hollywood Reporter: “The second season often becomes darker, less funny — not necessarily satisfying, but impressive.”
  • Alison Herman, Variety: “The cast only increases its power this time. New faces are welcomed, but the main characters gain additional depth.”
  • Carly Lane, Collider: “The second season of ‘Severance’ cleverly reveals an even bigger and more engaging science-fiction mystery, establishing itself as one of the best shows of 2025.”
  • Andrew Webster, The Verge: “The second season proves that ‘Severance’ is not just a good show, it’s a great show. And at least in the first half of the continuation, its ambition to expand the scales has not dulled the sharp edges.”

On Apple TV+, the second season of the series “Severance,” which will consist of 10 episodes, debuts on January 17th.
