Signal users are familiar with the challenge of creating group chats for a group call only, but that’s a thing of the past. Now you can share a link to a call and up to 50 people can join in just a few seconds. The days of selecting contacts one by one are over.
Now all you have to do is create a call link in the Calls tab and send it to those you want to invite. The link is reusable, which is handy if you have fixed call times. Participants can raise their hands and send emojis. Hosts can set up the room so that new participants need approval to join the conversation.
Signal notes that the new group call experience is very similar to Zoom. For those who value privacy but want to be able to make conference calls, the new update may be useful. As with Zoom, there are more features available in the desktop version.
The new features in Signal are available on Android, iOS, Windows, and macOS. If you don’t have them yet, you should update your Signal app.
