Maisie Williams played Arya Stark in «Game of Thrones» for almost 10 years and stated that she would love to try on this role again. Now George Martin has hinted that a standalone story about the character seems to be possible.
Writer said that he had met with the actress in London to discuss the upcoming project, but did not disclose its name in order to avoid jinxing the «:
«I met Maisie Williams for pizza and pasta and talked about… well, no, I’d better not go into details, I don’t want to jinx it. But it could be a lot of fun».
The spinoff «Game of Thrones», dedicated to the character’s story, seems to have had a chance to be continued, given her unfinished story — at the end of the final season, Arya, who gained new abilities thanks to her training with the Faceless Men, sailed to the west of Westeros, and it would be very interesting to see what adventures awaited her there.
Earlier, HBO abandoned the development of another direct sequel «Game of Thrones» dedicated to Jon Snow — due to «lack of source material». Instead, the company focused on a series of prequels: we have already seen «Dragon House» with two seasons (others are in development), we are looking forward to «Knight of the Seven Kingdoms» and (no dates yet) at a series about Aegon the Conqueror Targaryen.
