Sony Pictures just dropped the first trailer for the post-apocalyptic horror movie “28 Years Later” — the much-anticipated sequel to “28 Days Later” and “28 Weeks Later”.
The original film’s creators are back at it with Cillian Murphy leading the cast — director Danny Boyle, writer Alex Garland, and cinematographer Anthony Dod Mantle (by the way, the film was reportedly mostly shot on an iPhone 15 Pro Max camera link).
“28 Years Later” will focus on a story that unfolds many years after a zombie onslaught in Great Britain. In the trailer, you can catch glimpses of Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Jodie Comer trying to escape from zombies, and a bloodied Ralph Fiennes.
Even though Murphy isn’t mentioned in the cast list, his character Jim seems to appear as one of the zombies.
“Some time after the events of ’28 Weeks Later’, the rage virus has returned, and a group of survivors will try to save themselves in a world ravaged by hordes of the infected,” — from the official synopsis.
The film “28 Years Later” was shot simultaneously with its second part directed by Nia DaCosta, where Murphy is set to star in the lead role.
The first part of “28 Years Later” is set to debut in cinemas worldwide on June 20th (likely a day earlier in Ukraine).
