The first teaser trailer for the new «Superman» has been released, with David Corensworth taking on the role of the Man of Steel for the first time, replacing Henry Cavill.
«Superman», formerly known as «Superman: Legacy» — is the first film in the new version of the DCU cinematic universe by James Gunn and Peter Safran. Gunn is directing the film from his own script and has previously said that the character of Korenswett will not be «dark and harsh» in the new version, but will become more of a family character who will symbolize hope for the best.
In the trailer, we are shown a somewhat bloody main character in the snow and a shot of ordinary people mocking the superhero. According to Hanna, there is a certain symbolism in this:
«We have a beaten Superman in the beginning, and I think that’s our country,» the director said during a press conference on Monday, reports Deadline.
Rachel Brosnahan («The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel») took on the role of Lois Lane, and the villain Lex Luthor was played by Nicholas Hoult («Big»), which, by the way, was originally tried out for the role of Clark Kent. The rest of the cast includes Isabela Merced as Hawkeye Girl, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern, Eddie Gathegi as Mr. Terrific, Maria Gabriela de Faria as The Engineer, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Sarah Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Terence Rosemar as Otis, Anthony Kerrigan as Metamorpho, and more.
Also in the movie Christopher Reeve’s son will be bornwho played Clark Kent in 1978 — as a TV reporter. We may also see a new Supergirl performed by a star «Dragon House» Millie Alcock.
The new «Superman» will be released in theaters on July 11, 2025 (probably a day earlier in Ukraine).
