The first trailer for «Jurassic World Rebirth» — the new installment of Universal’s sci-fi franchise introduced by Steven Spielberg.
This time around, Gareth Edwards («Rogue One») is directing and David Keppa — the author of Spielberg’s original «Jurassic Park» and its 1997 sequel, wrote the screenplay. The film stars Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali and Jonathan Bailey («The Bridgertons»).
The new movie «Jurassic World Rebirth» takes place 5 years after the events of the previous part «Jurassic World 3: Dominion».
According to the official synopsis, there are a limited number of dinosaurs in the world today that live in special biosphere. Covert operations expert Zora Bennett (Johansson) tries to obtain genetic material from the animals to create a miracle cure for heart disease, but eventually finds herself trapped on an island with her colleagues. The plot also includes a mysterious family that survived a shipwreck.
Two-time «Oscar» nominee Ali plays Duncan Kincaid, a black ops logistics specialist and longtime friend of Zora, while Bailey stars as the inquisitive paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis. Also among the cast: Rupert Friend («The Companion»), Manuel Garcia-Rulfo («Lincoln for a Lawyer»), Luna Blaze («Manifest Destiny»), David Iacono («The Summer I Was Hot») and Ed Skrein («Deadpool»).
Spielberg himself is executive producing, along with fellow franchise veterans Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley.
Each of the last three films in the «Jurassic World» series has grossed more than $1 billion at the box office since 2015, so it’s no surprise that the sequel was not long in coming. In theaters, «Jurassic World Rebirth» will debut on July 2, 2025 (in Ukraine, most likely, a day earlier).
