The fifth and final season of «Stranger Things», which will debut on Netflix this year, has yet to receive a full trailer — but the show’s creators and actors regularly provide some interesting details and promises about the upcoming release.
Thus, in an interview with Collider Finn Wolfgangard, who played Mike Wheeler in the series, said that the final season will offer not just episodes, but entire «mini-movies» that will match this title in terms of both duration and action.
«It’s definitely a long season. Not every episode is like a full-length movie, but this year there will definitely be some episodes that are as long as a movie».
Wolfgang clarified that these «mini-movies» are necessary to ensure that each of the many characters «gets a decent ending». A few days earlier, in a commentary to Variety The actor boldly stated that the fifth season turned out to be «something like The Lord of the Rings».
«We shot something like The Lord of the Rings for a whole year».
Finn added that the last day of filming was «extremely emotional» for each of the actors, given that the series was filmed for 9 years, and the main characters turned from children to teenagers, and in the finale, it seems, to be quite adults.
«These are the last 10 years of my life. The creators of the show, the Duffer brothers, were 30 years old when the filming started, and now they are 40. We’ve been on this long journey together. I spent my whole childhood there».
We remind you that the filming of the 5th season of were completed in December (at the same time, Netflix showed behind-the-scenes photos), and its debut on streaming is tentatively scheduled for the fall of 2025.
