NVIDIA RTX 5090 graphics cards are facing deficit at the start and sky-high prices due to the small number of GPUs produced. It is said that there will be much more of them soon.
According to a MEGAsizeGPU insider who is very connected to NVIDIA’s graphics card partners and has a lot of insider experience in the past, there will be a lot of GB202 processors on the market. At least «tons of GB202» have already been received from manufacturers.
An increase in GB202 production was to be expected sooner or later, but the capacity of the extremely busy TSMC is limited, and NVIDIA almost certainly cares primarily about AI chips like the GB200 GPU, which have a much larger market and revenue. Demand for them was lower than expected, so NVIDIA probably adjusted its orders towards GB202 for RTX 5090 graphics cards.
Imagine you are Nvidia and have purchased shit loads of TSMC yields for B200, but now the market doesn’t want that much B200, and RTX40 is retired……The only solution is to make as much RTX50 as possible to cover the unused yield of B200 https://t.co/GFXAAdCzOl

Website VideoCardz claims that the RTX 5090 is not currently shipping, and there is a huge speculation problem with NVIDIA’s lack of response to price increases by partners The increase is even official, and some manufacturers also report a significant delay in delivery — from several weeks to several months.

Stores are also taking advantage of the shortage to sell more related components as finished PCs. For example, the Danish Komplett.dk has 147 5080 graphics cards in stock but does not sell them separately.
It is not known for sure whether the shortage will affect video cards RTX 5070 Ti and regular RTX 5070, coming soon. There is nothing to indicate numerous available chips for them, and given the lower cost, we can expect more demand.
