Sony has revealed the first teaser for the horror movie Until Dawn — an adaptation of the computer game by Supermassive Games from the year 2015.The film will follow new characters, played by Ella Rubin, Michael Cimino, Yu Ji-en, Odessa A’zion, Maya Mitchell, and Belmont Cameli. Peter Stormare will return to the role of Dr. Hill.
«A group of friends, hunted by a masked killer, gets stuck in a time loop and the only way to survive is to make it until dawn».
The director of the film is David F. Sandberg («Shazam», «Annabelle»), and the script was written by Gary Dauberman («It», «The Nun»).
Sandberg previously mentioned that the film Until Dawn does not retell the game, but instead tells a new, original story within the universe — meanwhile, Stormare’s character will serve as a certain connecting part of these narratives. In the original game, Rami Malek and Hayden Panettiere also participated, but they, obviously, will not appear in the adaptation.

A full trailer for the Until Dawn movie is promised to be shown “soon”, while the release is scheduled for April 25th.
Overall, the year 2025 is quite filled with video game adaptations: in April, a film for Minecraft also debuts, in October — Mortal Kombat 2, and in December — “Five Nights at Freddy’s 2”. On television, we look forward to the second season of the series “The Last of Us”.
