Retailer Overclockers UK (OCUK) has announced that buyers of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 will have to wait 16 weeks — that is, until June. Pre-orders have been stopped.
The situation with the RTX 5080 is not as complicated — owners will only have to wait «2-6 weeks. The restrictions apply to those customers who have not received a shipping confirmation email. The store will not accept orders until the availability is clearly defined and we fulfill the pre-orders that we have accepted». Also, the store website was overloaded on the day of the RTX 50 launch and crashed.

В other global stores The situation is no better. Newegg reports that its inventory RTX 5090 / RTX 5080 «evaporated» only 20 minutes after the start of the sale, in smaller stores it took 5 minutes. At the same time speculators offer video cards for 2-3 recommended prices, but their offers are also limited.
RTX 5070 / 5070 Ti graphics cards will hit the market in February and will be able to somewhat dilute the artificial shortage. But free access should not be expected: almost certainly, insufficiently skeptical buyers will react with increased demand to NVIDIA’s marketing claim that the performance of the RTX 5070 is equal to the RTX 4090 (with MFG).
At least now we know some approximate timeframe for the probable normalization of the situation, although the 16-week timeframe can also be taken by the store «from the ceiling». We can only hope (with not too high a probability) that NVIDIA and video card manufacturers will increase supplies during this time.
