Disney has released the first teaser trailer for the second season of «Andor», a prequel to «Star Wars» starring Diego Luna.

The prequel series leads to the events of the movie «Rogue One. Star Wars. A Story» (2016), which tells the story of a heroic group of rebels who steal plans to create weapons of mass destruction from the Empire — «Death Star». The protagonist of «Andor» is the eponymous petty thief, who eventually turns into a rebel hero, and in the second season becomes the de facto leader.
«In the second season, the characters’ relationships heat up as the war horizon approaches and Cassian becomes a key player in the Rebel Alliance. Everyone will be put to the test, and as the stakes rise, betrayal, sacrifice, and conflicting plans will become unimaginable», — the official synopsis says.
The second season of the «Andor» series will debut on Disney+ on April 22 and will consist of four chapters (3 episodes each), which will be released weekly for a month.
In addition to Luna, the series stars Stellan Skashgård (Luten Rael), Genevieve O’Reilly (Mon Mothma), Denise Gough (Dedra Miro), Kyle Soller (Cyril Carn), Adrienne Archona (Bix Kalin), and others. The trailer for the second season also introduced newcomers: Ben Mendelsohn and Alan Tudyk, who reprise their roles from «Rogue One» — as Imperial officer Orson Krennic and reprogrammed Imperial droid K-2SO, respectively.
The executive producers are Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy and «Rogue One» co-creator Tony Gilroy, who also wrote the first three episodes (each chapter was written by a different writer).
