China continues to be a place of rapid development of electric transport. The country is also actively developing relevant technologies in the electric vehicle industry. This time, we’re talking about battery charging speed. The dream of getting a decent charge in 10 minutes or less remains mostly a dream all over the world, but the Chinese brand Zeekr disagrees.
The Zeekr 7X electric car received a 75 kWh LFP Golden Battery, whose charging speed is almost comparable to the time spent at the gas station by owners of cars with internal combustion engines. The LFP Golden Battery can charge from 10% to 80% in less than 10 minutes. And charging from a fully discharged state to 100% took only about 20 minutes.
This shows once again how the charging curve for any electric vehicle is a million times more important than the advertised peak charging speed, which some electric vehicles only reach for a minute or two, if at all.
It is likely that such a charging speed (with the right infrastructure) will increase the attractiveness of electric vehicles in the eyes of consumers.
