LG, together with Qualcomm, will unveil the revolutionary Cross Domain Controller (xDC) platform at CES 2025, which promises to change the way we think about car performance.
The xDC platform is based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon Ride Flex system-on-chip. This is a powerful and versatile chip that integrates ADAS (driver assistance systems) and IVI (infotainment systems) functions into a single centralized controller. This approach addresses the growing complexity of modern cars, which require a centralized computing system to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Key features of the xDC platform
Integrated ADAS and IVI control. With Snapdragon Ride Flex SoC capabilities, the xDC platform can simultaneously process data from ADAS and IVI systems. This results in smoother, faster vehicle response, improving safety and driving comfort.
The platform offers ADAS Confidence View, which combines 3D and 2D graphics to provide clear and understandable visual cues to the driver. This helps you focus on the road and react more quickly to changing circumstances.
One of the most interesting features of the platform is the ability to combine driving information with entertainment content. Drivers and passengers will be able to receive ADAS alerts, real-time traffic updates, and personalized recommendations based on their preferences without distractions.
The main advantages of the xDC platform include cost savings (combining ADAS and IVI systems reduces the number of components required), design optimization (the platform provides high performance by adapting solutions to automakers’ requirements), and improved safety (integrating data processing increases the vehicle’s response time in critical situations).
LG and Qualcomm will demonstrate the xDC platform for the first time at CES 2025. Subsequently, the companies plan to develop solutions tailored to the needs of automakers through component integration and design optimization.
