The first trailer for a new Apple TV+ drama series called «Your Friends & Neighbors starring John Hamm has been released — this time, the «Mad Men star will play an ex-rich man and fired hedge fund manager who robs the homes of his friends to preserve his wealth and maintain a high standard of living for his family.
«Life comes down to a series of interconnected decisions», — says Hamm’s character Andrew «Coop» Cooper in the trailer. «No one would ever suspect a guy like me».
But of course, one day he will definitely appear in the wrong house at the wrong time — and this will put his «little secret» in danger of being exposed.
In addition to Hamm, the series stars Amanda Peet, Olivia Munn, Hong Li, Mark Tollman, Lena Hall, Aimee Carrero, Eunice Bae, Isabelle Gravitt, and Donovan Colan. The showrunner is Jonathan Tropper, known for his work on «Warrior» and «Banshee», and the first two episodes were directed by Craig Gillespie («Me, Tonya», «Cruella»).
By the way, Tropper in EW comments said that he drew inspiration from his own experience of living in a wealthy community «at a time when everyone seemed to be making ridiculous amounts of money from internet startups and hedge funds», noting that the series will explore how far people are willing to go to maintain their wealth and status.
The series «Your Friends and Neighbors» will debut on Apple TV+ on April 11, but has already been officially renewed for a second season.
