Similar bracelets are available in some other manufacturersbut that’s not the style of Garmin, which offers multifunctional smartwatches with a recognizable design.
Over time, smartwatches have evolved into mini-smartphones. However, users seem to miss the days when wearables were a bit simpler. User Reddit wrote an open letter to Garmin. The author expressed his admiration new products of the company and program part despite some shortcomings, such as complex interface. He writes that he is happy to track his motorcycle rides and other activities. However, he has a request for Garmin: make a bracelet without a display.
«Dear Garmin, I love you. I truly love how you make me exercise even when I don’t feel like it. I like that your devices are so much more complete than your competitors. I like the 3 watches I bought from you, especially my Fénix 7s. I like your app, although the interface is not the cleanest. I like that I can even follow motorcycle rides or weird sports. I love everything but one thing.
Please release a screenless bracelet. I would love to wear a device similar to Whoop every day. I’m still going to wear my Fénix and use my Edge, but I would love you more if I had a simple strap so I could also wear my mechanical watch, monitor my sleep with a little more comfort and so I don’t seem like someone who is trying to look like an athlete everywhere I go. Thank you! P.S.: I love you».

The request sparked a discussion on the Internet, with many participants saying that they too would like to get a tracker without a display. Some suggested wearing both a regular and a smartwatch at once, the latter being hidden by a longer strap under clothing.
- «I would even overpay for something like this. I miss a good watch, but my dependence on Fenix data is too great».
- «Yes, discreet? Without a screen. Listen to this Garmin person. Actually tell us, is this on your roadmap?».
- «I would return to the Garmin ecosystem if they offered an alternative to the Ring or Whoop»
Another reason why users want Garmin to release its own version of the strap without a display is the lack of subscription fees. «They [Garmin] don’t put features behind a subscription wall like everyone else does these days».
Another user shared an interesting thought about why the company doesn’t want to get into screenless devices: of course, people sometimes want to hide the device, but then no one can see it, and that’s bad for marketing As for the smart ring, Garmin has previously said about it. The company wants to keep improving what it has already created instead of chasing trends.
