A month has passed since the release of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, but only a small portion of players saw the final credits — only 11.4%.
Game Director Daneiel Vavra said that since its release on February 4, only 8% of players have completed the game, but now the number has increased to over 11%. In total, the story of the medieval travels of Henry and Hans Capon has sold more than 2 million copies.
There are several reasons for the slow progression: first, the main storyline takes 60–80 hours, and together with side quests, it can easily exceed 120. Gamers who have not played the first part are faced with an overly complicated game an interface that requires a lot of attention and memorization of large amounts of information
«In order to get good at this game, you have to absolutely devote yourself to it wholly. Secondly, the game does not offer a «easy mode»: everyone has to survive in a world where Henry — is an ordinary person who can be knocked out by villagers during a drunken fight or by ordinary robbers. Both the first part of KCD and the second part will weed out those who are used to more arcade RPGs.
KCD2 is undoubtedly a big game with two large regions to explore. The action-RPG offers many side quests and a lively world that actively reacts to the player’s decisions and behavior. Many fans are not in a hurry to «run through» the story, but explore the world and look for hidden secrets from developers.
In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has a total of 48 achievements on Steam — only 14 of which have been earned by more than 30% of players. One of the achievements has a rate of 0.01% — an absolute minority decided not to eat meat or kill animals during the game. Also, so far, only 0.06% of players have escaped execution by hanging. Another 1.2% of gamers were able to kill an enemy with a long-range crossbow shot to the head.
Meanwhile, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 can be called a hit. Peak online on Steam exceeded 250 thousand. Warhorse Studios developers are preparing updates, including Hardcore Mode («easy mode» you don’t have to wait) and three major DLCs in 2025.
