It seems that Facebook is now banning some posts or threads that mention the word «Linux».
As reported by Tom’s HardwareSome posts mentioning the Linux family of operating systems or related communities (sites) are immediately deleted, while users or pages that published them are restricted or banned.

A popular information site that writes about Linux distributions, DistroWatch clarified that the ban came into effect on January 19, and the appeal against the blocking has not yet yielded results: the company representative said that «topics mentioning Linux will remain in the filter as a threat to cybersecurity».
«Most of Facebook’s infrastructure runs on Linux, — DistroWatch ironically notes. «And the company often posts jobs looking for Linux developers».
We hope that the ban on Linux mentions on Facebook is either a temporary thing or a simple mistake (which is quite possible, given the long-standing problems with moderation on Meta social networks). It should also be noted that no one has yet touched the posts mentioning Linux published by Tom’s Hardware journalists on Facebook for the sake of experimentation.
Earlier, Meta announced that will abandon its standard moderation system and will instead launch a tool similar to Community Notes in Elon Musk’s X — meaning that users will be able to add context to posts that contain potentially misleading information themselves.
