OnePlus Open 2 will be significantly improved: Snapdragon 8 Elite, 6000 mAh battery, satellite connectivity and optimized design

Two well-known Chinese insiders on Weibo shared interesting information about the upcoming OnePlus Open 2 foldable smartphone, the successor to the original OnePlus Open. This device will be the result of the rebranding of the Oppo Find N5 model for the global market.

It seems that OnePlus and Oppo missed the 2024 release timeframe, but probably for a good reason. According to rumors, the foldable smartphone will have a new, more robust, industrial design using titanium. Sources also claim that the OnePlus Open 2 will probably be the thinnest foldable smartphone on the market, surpassing the Honor Magic V3.

But it’s not just design improvements that we’re expecting. The publication claims that the device will have an improved three-camera system from Hasselblad. The smartphone will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC processor and will have a battery capacity of about 6000 mAh. We are also promised support for wireless charging and satellite communications.

Finally, one of the insiders believes that Oppo Find N5 will be presented in China in February. And the global presentation of the renamed OnePlus Open 2 device is scheduled for March to June, right before the release of Samsung and Google’s foldable smartphones.
