
As of today, “Sonic the Hedgehog 3” has raked in over $330 million globally, pushing the franchise’s total earnings to $1 billion (the previous films earned $725 million together).
The “Sonic the Hedgehog” movie series revolves around the character from Sega video games and its mascot—all directed by Jeff Fowler and featuring stars like Jim Carrey (Dr. Robotnik), Ben Schwartz (voice of Sonic), Idris Elba (Knuckles), and Keanu Reeves (Sonic Shadow).
The third film, which debuted in December, currently holds an “A” CinemaScore and 96% audience approval on Rotten Tomatoes. At its premiere, “Sonic the Hedgehog 3” topped the U.S. box office and marked the franchise’s best debut internationally, reaching the first $100 million faster than its predecessors.
