The 16-year-old boy was an active participant in the hacker forum «zelenka.guru», where he offered his services in creating malware.
One of his creations, called «autoria_checker», was intended to hack the AUTO.RIA website, which specializes in car sales.
Interestingly, the product did find a buyer — a young «hacker» sold the program to a Telegram user and received a cryptocurrency transfer «USDT» equivalent to $65 (about 2600 UAH), although he eventually somehow ended up in court.
According to solution Ternivka District Court of Kryvyi Rih (via dev.ua), the guy was found guilty under Part 1 of Article 361-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (creation of malicious programs for the purpose of illegal use, distribution or sale) and fined UAH 34,000.
It is noted that when deciding on the punishment, the court took into account the young programmer’s «sincere repentance» minor age and positive characteristics from the place of study.
