Deputy Minister of Defense for Digitalization Kateryna Chernogorenko spoke about another innovation her team is currently working on. Thus, it is planned to simplify the passage of the military medical commission (MMC) for persons liable for military service and servicemen. In fact, we are talking about a digital reform of the Military Medical Commission. The corresponding model has already been developed.
According to Kateryna Chernogorenko, persons liable for military service and servicemen will be able to receive a medical certificate at any civilian hospital. This medical report will be sent in a digital format to the Ministry of Defense system. It will take a few minutes or even a few seconds to transfer it. Then, the MEC will be able to familiarize itself with the medical data set and make its administrative decision on its own initiative. This will relieve the workload of the MEC, reduce queues and reduce abuse.
«So we divide the medical report into two parts. The medical part… and the administrative part, which is the responsibility of the Ministry of Defense,» the Deputy Minister of Defense explained.
She added that from a technical point of view, making such an electronic data exchange «is not a difficult challenge» and the digital team is ready to quickly implement the functionality. However, for its implementation, it is necessary to make appropriate changes to the legislation. Draft amendments to regulations are currently being prepared.
