Anthony Maki, known to the audience as Falcon and the new Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, plays a single father trying to escape with his family in the Rocky Mountains from an invasion of creepy creatures.
«Unknown creatures appeared out of nowhere and destroyed almost all life on the planet. The remnants of humanity are forced to hide at an altitude of more than 1800 meters: there, the monsters cannot reach them. The protagonist is from the generation that is used to living in the mountains. But when the lives of his loved ones are at stake, he will have to go down beyond the safe limit and confront the» eaters.
In addition to Mackie («The Avengers»), Morena Baccarin («Deadpool»), Maddie Hesson («Impulse») and others joined the cast of «Deadlands».
The film was directed by George Nolfi, known for his work on the thriller «Altering Reality» and the drama «The Banker» (in which he also worked with Anthony Mackie). While «Elevation» was produced by Brad Fuller, who has worked on horror films (mostly remakes) such as «The Texas Chainsaw Massacre» (2003), «Friday the 13th» (2009) and «A Nightmare on Elm Street» (2010).
Filming began in Colorado in November 2022 and ended in late March 2023. At the time, local observers wrote about the film as having received «the largest production in the region since «The Hateful Eight» 2015 by director Quentin Tarantino».
