Fallout, Diablo, Heroes 3: GOG guarantees ongoing support for classic games on modern PCs — 100 already updated

GOG has announced a large-scale initiative to update and adapt old video games — GOG Preservation. The company has already modernized 100 classic projects to run smoothly on new operating systems.

«The GOG Preservation Program ensures that classic games remain available on modern systems even after developers have stopped supporting them. By supporting these iconic titles, GOG helps you preserve and relive the memories that shaped you — without DRM protection and with professional technical support», the company says.

Each game within the program has a special mark and a detailed change log. Players can get acquainted with the list technical updates and improvements for each product. The first wave of updated projects includes iconic series: Resident Evil, Warcraft, Dragon Age, Fallout, System Shock, and others.

According to Video Game History Foundation, 87% of games created before 2010 are currently inaccessible to modern users.
