
Ford CEO Jim Farley said in a podcast that he drives a Xiaomi SU7 and likes it very much.
Xiaomi SU7 outside similar to the Porsche Panamera sedan and costs about $30,000 USD, and the top model costs about $42,000 USD. Jim Farley did not specify which variant he was using, but it seems that he was very pleased with the car and its sales.

«This Xiaomi car is… fantastic. They sell ten thousand, twenty thousand a month. I don’t like to talk about the competition, but we delivered [SU7] from Shanghai to Chicago, I’ve been driving it for six months now and I don’t want to give it up».
It is a common practice among automakers to test competitors’ vehicles to better understand their offerings. Rivian CEO R.J. Scurring recently said that his pickup trucks are being dismantled by Chinese manufacturers.
Xiaomi is best known for smartphones and ranks second in the world by their sales. Due to its rapid growth, the company was once called «the Chinese Apple». But, unlike Apple, they did create own electric car — and it seems to have been successful. However, in the summer of Xiaomi said it took time before the new business area is profitable.
The SU7 is fully integrated with other Xiaomi products — home appliances, smartphones, etc. The electric car is equipped with an infotainment system with a 16.1″ screen mirrored in a smartphone and Xiaomi Pilot assistant to help the driver. The car can accelerate to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds, surpassing the Tesla Model 3’s time by 3.1 seconds, and, according to the company, covers 700 km on a single charge.
Sedan Xiaomi SU7 was shown in November 2023 Sales started in March 2024, but faced delays due to increased demand.
