Although «Gladiator II» had a fairly confident box office debut, not all critics praised the film as highly — in fact, there are many more films in the director’s oeuvre that are probably worth even more attention.
Website World of Reel has created a rating of Ridley Scott’s top 10 films based on the reviews of more than 120 critics: as expected, the top films are «Alien» 1979 and «Blade Runner» 1982. In the survey, critics were asked to choose five of the director’s best films (Scott made about 28 over 50 years of work, so there was a lot of choice) — below are the results with the number of votes from the reviewers.

Recall that the director himself has previously stated that he believes «Gladiator 2» the best movie of his career, while the movie «Prometheus» defined as a failure in the franchise «Alien».
Scott, 86, also stated that is not going to retire in the near future and seems to stop filming only if he dies. Ridley plans to — return to the franchise «Alien» with a new project, and furthermore, we are looking forward to Apple TV+ in March crime drama «Dope Thief», which he produced and directed the first episode.
