Director and head of the DCU James Gunn has released an animated trailer for the “Superman” movie and announced when the trailer will drop — it’s happening in a few days.
The poster on the director’s Instagram shows Superman, portrayed by David Corenswet, in flight. In another post, he writes that the movie trailer will be out on Thursday. This film will be the first in the new chapter of James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DC called “Chapter One: Gods and Monsters.” The chapter kicked off this month with the animated series “Creature Commandos,” which was well-received by critics and audiences.
James Gunn also wrote the screenplay for “Superman,” and the cast includes Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor.
The film with David Corenswet will differ from other Gunn and DC films. The director himself has made superhero “violence comedies,” while Zack Snyder presented a dark and mature version of the characters. The new Superman movie will offer a more “family-friendly approach.” “Superman” will hit theaters on July 11, 2025.
