The Minisforum mini-PC model MS-A1 with the AM5 socket is now available with a configuration featuring the 16-core Ryzen 9 9950X with a 100W TDP (70W less than the official specification).
Previously, it had been available with the Ryzen 7 8700G, quite capable for many tasks. The new Minisforum MS-A1 does not feature special graphics, so the Ryzen 7 8700G was an excellent choice thanks to its iGPU. There are many workloads that require the power of a central processor, however, the built-in iGPU in the 9950X, Radeon 610M, can only handle basic functionality.

This ultra-compact PC has a cooling system with two fans and four heat pipes. It’s equipped with four M.2 PCIe 4.0 slots and numerous ports, including OCuLink for an external graphics card, two 2.5 Gbit RJ45 network connectors, DP 2.0, HDMI 2.1, and USB4.

The MS-A1 computer chassis costs $259, the variant with the Ryzen 9 9950X processor is $919, and the buyer will need to purchase memory and storage. A full configuration with the Ryzen 9 9950X, 32 GB of RAM, and a 2 TB SSD costs $1199.
