In 2025, PlayStation is going to see a bunch of cool games, including GTA 6, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, Borderlands 4, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, DOOM: The Dark Ages, and others — but none of them topped PlayStation CEO Herman Hulst’s own list of the most anticipated releases of the year.
In a recent interview (via tech4gamers), Hulst said that for him personally, the most anticipated game of 2025 will be Ghost of Yotei — a standalone follow-up to Ghost of Tsushima.
“It’s tough to pick just one game or studio, but the announcement of Ghost of Yotei by Sucker Punch Productions was special to me,” said Hulst.
Ghost of Yotei — an action-adventure game developed by Sucker Punch Productions and to be published by Sony. Slated for release on PlayStation 5 in 2025, details about the game are still scarce — a short trailer shown at State of Play hinted that the events will take place in 1603, with a female warrior named Atsu as the main protagonist. Developers also mentioned that players will have more control over the storyline and Atsu’s choices compared to Ghost of Tsushima.
Ghost of Yotei will be Sucker Punch’s first project specifically created for PlayStation 5, which “will allow full utilization of the console’s technical capabilities to create stunning visuals.”
