Spare parts for Pixel Pro 9 Fold from Google are currently available on the iFixit website — and the prices of some make you think that it is better to buy a new phone or laptop than to repair a broken one.
For example, replacing the internal display for Pixel 9 Pro Fold will cost $1199 — and this is just the price of the parts, including the frame, hinge, side buttons, and the OLED screen itself.
A set of tools for self-repair will cost $1207. Replacing the screen of last year’s Pixel Fold also cost a lot — $899, but even compared to this price, the jump is considerable. For context: the Pixel Pro 9 Fold itself costs $1799; while the money spent on repairs could buy brand new iPhone 16 Pro Max or a 13-inch MacBook Air M3 for $1099 with a balance.
The rest of the Pixel Pro 9 Fold components that are available on iFixit have the following prices:
- External screen — $190
- Rear cameras — $250
- Internal front camera — $90
- External front camera — $80
- Battery — $67
