Based on Stephen King’s story “Autopsy Room Four,” British director Ranjit S. Marwa is set to make a feature-length film.
The story centers around a person in a coma who is believed to be dead and ends up in an autopsy room. Stephen King has already given Marwa’s adaptation the “green light.” The director, who is also the screenwriter, has experience in low-budget films in the US and the UK. The film is currently in development.
The story was first published in a limited edition of King’s collection “Six Stories” in 1997 and later appeared in the anthology “Psycho” that same year. In 2002, it was featured in King’s collection “Everything’s Eventual.” In 2003, the plot was adapted into a short film, and in 2006 it became part of the series “Nightmares & Dreamscapes: From the Stories of Stephen King.”

Marwa’s debut short film in 2012, “The Man Who Loved Flowers,” was inspired by the works of Stephen King. His feature film in 2018, “Citizen ,Erased” was adapted into a limited TV series on Amazon in 2021. His recent thriller “Dig Me No Grave” was acquired by Buffalo 8, and “Spring Lakes” by Gravitas Ventures.
