
The automotive division of the Chinese tech giant Xiaomi has officially announced its second electric car model, the YU7. At the same time, the documentation submitted by the company to the regulatory authorities revealed the key characteristics of the new product.
The new Xiaomi YU7 electric crossover is to be officially launched in June or July next year. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China has released a new catalog of models that may soon be approved for sale, and Xiaomi YU7 is among them. This is an important stage in the regulatory process that allows for the launch of sales in China. The catalog provides for public consultations that will last from December 10 to 16.

Thanks to the publication of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, we managed to find out the key characteristics of the future electric car. Its production will take place at the Xiaomi EV plant in Yizhuang District, Beijing.
The main features of Xiaomi YU7:
- Model: XMA6500LBEVA1
- Dimensions: length – 4999 mm, width – 1996 mm, height – 1600 mm.
- Wheelbase: 3000 mm.
- Weight: 2405 kg.
- Top speed: 253 km/h.
- Engines: two electric motors with a maximum power of 220 kW at the front and 288 kW at the rear.
So far, there is not enough information about the battery that will be used in the Xiaomi YU7 electric car. It is known that it will be a CATL lithium-ion battery. However, the capacity and estimated power reserve are not yet available.


In March of this year Xiaomi unveiled its first SU7 electric car model in three versions – Standard, Pro, and Max – starting at $29720. The Standard and Max versions were launched in April, and the Pro version in May. Until November 18 the company has already delivered more than 100 thousand SU7 unitssurpassing the annual target. In November, Xiaomi announced a new target of delivering 130 thousand SU7 units in 2024.
